About Shiatsu
Zen Shiatsu is a form of traditional Japanese bodywork that originated from a blending of Chinese Medicine theory and the Acupuncture meridians, and traditional Japanese massage. The practitioner uses deep palm, thumb, elbow, and knee pressure to follow meridians throughout the body. Shiatsu is a clothed massage and is traditionally performed on a futon on the floor.
I began studying Shiatsu with my teacher Shunji Morimoto of Wendell, MA, a master practitioner in the Zen Shiatsu style, in 2011. I have studied, practiced, and offered shiatsu at community events alongside a group of Morimoto's students, the Moshi Moshi Collective, for over 10 years.
My goal as a practitioner is to create a space where clients can allow their bodies and minds to feel their tremendous depth, wholeness, and innate ability to heal and transform.
